Role Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a Metallurgical/Chemical Technician, responsible for executing a range of testwork and analyses in our laboratory, including -
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting analytical testing and metallurgical testing under the guidance of the Project Manager.
Preparing samples for analysis, including handling, inventorying, crushing, blending, and pulverising.
Performing routine tests, analyses, and metallurgical testing using standard methods, such as flotation tests, assay digests, leach tests, and other metallurgical procedures.
Collating test data for evaluation by supervisors and preparing basic reports.
Ensuring strict compliance with Brisbane Met Lab procedures and policies, including maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the workplace.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Science, or Chemical Engineering is desirable but not essential.
Previous laboratory experience and training highly regarded, as well as factory or process skills.
Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to organise workload effectively.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
Demonstrate good situation awareness, critical thinking skills, judgement, integrity, and problem-solving abilities.
Positive attitude, curiosity to learn, and ability to work well with a diverse team.
Commitment to safe work practices and conscientiousness in safety documentation.
Basic understanding of metallurgical and analytical processes and testing procedures.
