Position: Industrial Vehicle Painter

Wulguru Group is seeking a skilled Industrial Vehicle Painter to join their team in their Townsville workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting a variety of industrial vehicles and equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow client specifications, including the number of coats and thickness of coats.
• Remove rough spots on vehicle panels and sand surfaces by hand and with power sanders.
• Mask areas not to be painted with tape and paper.
• Colour match and mix paints to match paint shades, and select pre-mixed paint.
• Apply primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sand surfaces between coats.
• Touch up paintwork and apply polish to vehicles.
• Remove masking papers, and wax and polish finished paintwork.
• Treat vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, and adhere to safety procedures and quality standards.
To be a successful applicant, you will need to possess the following:
• Proven experience as an Industrial Vehicle Painter or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of paint application techniques, colour matching, and surface preparation.
• Proficiency in using spray-guns, power sanders, and other painting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret client specifications and technical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to safety.
• A White Card or equivalent is required, or you must be willing to obtain one.
You may be required to undergo a Medical and Drug & Alcohol test.
