The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Orrcon Steel Manufacturing team in O’Sullivan Beach as an Asset Manager. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
In this business-critical role, you’ll develop and deploy our asset management strategy with a focus on safety and reliability. Where you’ll really add value is your inclination to look forward. What Will You Do?
You won’t achieve all this on your own. Leading your team and collaborating with individuals across Engineering, Operations and Quality, you will:
- communicate and embed the asset management strategy: translate this into clear accountabilities and deliverables including cost efficiencies
- lead and develop your team: coach and motivate your team to enhance engagement, capability, performance and talent succession development
- optimise operational capacity: deliver plant and equipment reliability and availability (OEE/Uptime) to ensure production targets are achieved
- share advancements in asset management: educate your team and broader stakeholders to grow understanding and engagement of new asset management approaches and technologies
- oversee governance and compliance: implement and review management systems and processes to meet safety, legislative, regulatory, quality and business policy requirements
- facilitate innovation and creativity: foster an environment that encourages and recognises new thinking and ideas to deliver continuous improvement
More About You
Your innovative thinking, positive energy and drive for results will be instrumental in delivering continuous improvement outcomes. Change management skills, coupled with experience in asset management and commitment to safety will see you succeed in this role. Perhaps you’ve gained your maintenance and asset management experience in manufacturing or maybe it’s mining. It’s your understanding of maintenance and asset management methodologies and systems that will support your success. In addition, you will bring:
- a tertiary qualification in an engineering field
- demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- good communication and influencing skills to navigate others through change
- a natural curiosity to keep learning about advancements in your field and technology
- a proven ability to make decisions with consideration to business commercial interests
- a commitment to the safety and well-being of others
