Salary: $74,000 plus 11% superannuation
Position: Permanent, Full time

Our client, Fateh Oz Pty Ltd operates Pipeworks Café, which is one of the largest and most impressive restaurants in the Port Macquarie area. With a seating capacity for 150 diners, the restaurant / cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The Pipeworks Cafe continues to maintain its reputation for high standards in service, food, juices, cocktails and superior coffee.

The venue is a highly regarded for both its food and welcoming hospitality in a vibrant atmosphere. The client is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join its culinary team at Pipeworks Café. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for Italian cuisine, a creative flair, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing a diverse menu that showcases the rich flavors of Italy, from classic pasta dishes to contemporary interpretations of traditional recipes.

Qualifications and experience
• be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 2 years full-time experience as a Chef

In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Develop and prepare innovative and authentic Italian dishes.
• Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of performance and morale.
• Collaborate with the management team to plan seasonal menus and specials.
• Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings.
• Establish and maintain strong, productive relationships.
• Ensure the kitchen team is knowledgeable about health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
• Rotation of all food items and provision of all stock ensuring safe and hygienic storage.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be career focused and have strong leadership qualities.

Other key skills and experience will include:
• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in an Italian cuisine setting.
• Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and regional specialties.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Passion for creativity and innovation in the kitchen.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

You must be able to thrive under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods and skilled in managing food costs effectively.
