Located just over an hour from Melbourne, our well known client is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team in their Warragul office. Our client aims to deliver the highest quality support to both primary and secondary schools across southeast Victoria.
This vacancy has become available due to the growth and demand in the area, which now sees this organisation requiring further support to assist their Finance team!
You will be responsible for the following
Facilitate completion of the Annual Financial Statement and other associated annual audit requirements
Assist in preparation of data for annual budgets.
Assist in the development of centralised finance support services
Undertake periodical reviews of financial databases to analyse data, ensure accuracy and maintain statutory compliance.
Undertake end-of-period reconciliations, prepare relevant financial reports, and assist with internal/external audit requirements
Assist in planning, implementing, reviewing, and training in new accounting and software systems
Provide support in completing data uploads and census to ensure accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Other Finance and Administration duties
What you'll need to succeed
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Extensive knowledge and experience in accounting/finance functions
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel applications
The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
The ability to work as part of a team to achieve both individual and team objectives
Experience within the education sector is advantageous but not essential
*The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Police Check and an Employee Working with Children's Check*
