Your new role
Based in Melbourne, as the Senior Reliability Engineer, your role involves collaborating closely with the Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Teams, systems engineers, and subcontractors. Your primary focus is on modelling, characterising, assessing, and enhancing the reliability, availability, and maintainability of mission systems. Additionally, you'll play a key role in establishing processes and procedures for the Reliability specialist engineering team, drawing from best practices in RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability). Furthermore, you'll provide specialised support for system test and evaluation activities, including defining tests, collecting data, and analysing results. What you'll need to succeed
Australian Citizenship is mandatory due to defence related security requirements (existing NV1 is a bonus!).
RAM Engineering Experience: You will have experience in RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) engineering across the entire system lifecycle, from requirements through to introduction into service.
RAM Analysis Techniques and Modelling: Familiarity with reliability analysis techniques and modelling is crucial. This includes working with: Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD): Understanding and creating RBDs to assess system reliability, Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Analysing failure modes, their effects, and criticality.
You will have experience with applying RCM principles to optimise maintenance strategies and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM): Specifically, using data from Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) for informed maintenance decisions.
You will have experience with Reliability Testing & Data Analysis and Test Planning & Definition: Experience in planning and defining reliability tests.
Failure Assessment and Root Cause Analysis: Identifying failures and analysing their root causes.
Reliability Statistical Analysis Methods: Proficiency in statistical methods for reliability assessment.
While not mandatory, familiarity with relevant military standards and procedures related to RAM is advantageous.
Having experience in Logistic Support Analysis is also a plus
