Grosvenor Mine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Moranbah. This is your opportunity to join a team of passionate and supportive industry leading experts where you can really drive your future career.
You will provide strategic advice to the Technical Services department on how to maximise the value of our operations, whilst advising management and operational staff on geotechnical issues. A high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in your success in this role.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this key role will see you:
- Maintain geotechnical oversight of underground operations and audit compliance with corporate standards and approved support designs
- Design ground support and monitoring systems to support safe and productive mine operations
- Conduct regular underground inspections to audit strata conditions and confirm the effectiveness of strata support systems installed to approved support designs
- Provide strategic advice to the Technical Services and Mining Operations departments on how to maximise the value of the operation
- Advise management and operational staff on geotechnical issues
- Manage the Strata Defect System and ensure compliance with the Geotechnical Operational Management System
- Advise and assist engineers with recommendations on geotechnical and hydro-geological issues regarding mine design, planning and operations
- Understand and comply with all legislative and company safety, health, environment, cost and production objectives, guidelines, procedures, and requirements relevant to the professional management of ground conditions
