About the Role:
As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition. You will be responsible for repairing and reshaping damaged panels, removing dents, and restoring structural integrity to vehicles. Attention to detail and a high level of craftsmanship are essential in this role. You will work closely with other technicians and provide assistance to apprentices where needed to enhance their progression in our shop.
Responsibilities:
Remove dents, scratches, and other imperfections from panels
Straighten and reshape damaged panels using appropriate tools and techniques
Repair or replace damaged parts as necessary
Align and fit repaired panels to the vehicle's body
Prepare surfaces for painting
Assist the estimator with identifying further damage once the vehicle enters the repair process
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Panel Beater, preferably in a reputable automotive repair shop
In-depth knowledge of panel beating techniques, tools, and materials
Proficient in using hand and power tools, including hammers, grinders, and welding equipment
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality workmanship
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Effective communication and customer service abilities
Physical stamina and ability to work in a panel beating environment
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Experience:
At least five years of similar environment experience
