About the role:
Opportunities exist for experienced NDT Technicians to carry out client testing and inspection requirements in Australia. You will ideally have extensive experience in a similar inspection role working on large scale industrial, mining or oil & gas client sites. You will also have good client relationship building skills and the ability to work autonomously. Your day could include inspection/testing of fixed or mobile plant on large scale industrial, mining or oil & gas client sites.
This role will be located in Bunbury, but we would also consider Perth and Collie.
Essential Requirements:
• API 510 / 570 / 653 Certifications
• Weld inspector certifications
• AINDT / PCN / ISO 9712 Level 2 certification in MT, PT & UT
• Good communication skills and a team player
• Understanding of WH&S requirements and responsibilities
• Understanding of ISO9001/ISO17025 requirements and responsibilities
• Self-motivated and the ability to work independently
• A reasonable level of health and fitness
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
Remuneration:
The field of NDT is broad with individuals holding various levels of certifications. The remuneration package will depend on individual certifications/skill set, with a base wage ranging from $80-100k AUD plus super and overtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The NDT Technician is responsible for conducting non-destructive testing on materials, ensuring adherence to workplace policies and confidentiality. Operating and maintaining equipment, documenting results, and prioritising safety are key aspects of the role. The technician collaborates with the team, troubleshoots issues, communicates with clientele and stays updated on industry standards to contribute to accurate material assessments while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
POSITION DUTIES
Ensure calibration of all NDT equipment before use.
Perform routine process control tests and periodic calibrations according to documented specifications and procedures.
Carrying out inspection activities static equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, process piping, and pipelines).
Evaluation of NDT & mechanical tests such as PMI, Metallographic, tension, hardness…etc.
Visual inspection and pressure testing of valves parts (bodies, bonnets, cover….)
Determine any required repairs or replacements.
Follow up repair procedures, welding activities, PWHTs, and NDT over them.
Ensure the accuracy of all tests performed in accordance with relevant specifications and procedures.
Prepare Work Forms and Inspection Reports within the scope of the classification.
Comply with the requirements of the company's quality system and relevant industry standards.
Perform other duties reasonably expected of an NDT Technician.
Provide feedback to clients regarding inspections and respond to other reasonable requests.
