The Role
We are recruiting for permanent full time Aged and Disabled Carers. You must able to stand your ground and possess a strong personality. Candidates must be able to work a rotating roster ranging from day, night and weekend shifts.
Position Description
You will be expected to provide a high level of personalised support, care and compassion to a range of both aged and disabled clients in their own home. You will work closely with participants, management and family members to ensure participants are able to enjoy life in a meaningful, safe and caring environment.
Responsibilities
• Taking care of high needs clients
• Provision of personal care and light domestic duties
• Physically capable of hoisting and manual handling
• Complete job tasks in accordance with participant plans in a timely manner
• Write and maintain accurate written records and documentation
Selection Criteria
• Certificate III or IV in Ageing, Disability or similar industry-related qualifications
• Ability to apply understanding of “duty of care” to delivering support services and escalate issues when needed
• Suitable experience in behaviours of concern, ASD, PBSP and strategies and data recordings, restrictive practices and reporting of incidents and unauthorised reportable incidents, and recording of daily occurrences: social, medical and behavioural
• A strong work ethic, a positive outlook and the ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure
• Own reliable transport
• Able to work flexible shifts (day, night and weekends)
• National Police Check, Yellow Card and Blue Card
Work Authorisation:
• Ability to work full time in Australia
