Forge Engineering is seeking an experienced, dedicated and qualified full-time Machinist to join their dynamic team.
The core purpose of the role is:
1. To complete all Jobs in the most efficient and Safe manner.
2. Promote and not harm the business's reputation.
3. Help Apprentices and workmates achieve the required competencies and job outcomes in the most efficient and safe manner.
Principal responsibilities:
• Undertake all machining work to the best of your ability, skills and competency.
• Maintain accurate Job ticket QA checks, time clock entries, QA sheets and service reports.
• Provide job estimate advice as requested by the Supervisor, Scheduler, Estimator or Management.
• Research, consult and use the latest available information, specific procedures, instructions and specifications when reclaiming or manufacturing components.
• Carry out appropriate hazard and risk analysis for all tasks and apply appropriate controls to effectively manage risks.
• Take all reasonable steps to ensure that all assigned tasks are free of faulty workmanship, and material issues and ensure acceptable quality of the finished product.
• Complete assigned tasks and job tickets efficiently and within target times.
• Communicate effectively with fellow workers when handing over assigned work at the end shift or at other changeover intervals.
• Present promptly at the workstation at the starting time in a clean, tidy manner and be Fit for work.
• Responsible for maintaining the workstation in a clean and tidy manner on a daily basis.
• Must report any malfunction of machinery or equipment in the workstation or cell to the workshop Supervisors.
• Responsible for reporting any unsafe condition that may arise while at work.
• Responsible for the maintenance and wearing of all PPE as directed by Supervisors or Management.
• Maintain all personal and company-supplied tooling and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Wear Company-supplied work clothing and be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all company-issued clothing.
• All assigned tasks are completed in an efficient and professional manner
• Start, Stop, Smoko and Lunch break times will be adhered to unless otherwise directed by the Workshop Supervisor.
• Tasks are carried out using appropriate process control procedures and guidelines to ensure no harm to people, equipment, quality and environment occurs.
Job knowledge, skills and experience:
• Machinist experience in a ”jobbing type” workshop.
• Good level of understanding of component reclamation and manufacturing processes.
• CNC programming skills and Machining experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and waste reduction methodologies.
• Cert III trade qualification in Fitting/Machining.

A remuneration package between $70,000 to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation will be negotiated depending on skills and experience.
