SUMMARY
Redback Exhaust systems are proudly Australian made in our high-tech factory based in Epping Melbourne. Despite being one of the oldest exhaust manufacturing companies in Australia our facility has been developed over the past 3 decades into one of the most technologically advanced. Not all exhaust manufacturers are the same, for example, we use electric mandrel benders whereas all other manufacturers in Australia use hydraulic machines; electric is considerably more expensive but more accurate and consistent in the bending process. Redback Exhaust offers a well designed and engineered product with superior features like various interchangeable sound options.
DUTIES
MIG Welding – including stainless steel.
Take and read measurements.
Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Be able to determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements including, being able to set your machine having an innate understanding of the heat effected zone, and an ability to adjust for different materials.
Set up components for welding according to specifications.
Align components using callipers, rules etc. and clamp pieces.
Cutting and shaping the metal using hand tools and machines in the workshop.
Joining, cleaning, filling and griding the metal sections.
Preparing metal stock.
Report damages on machines and equipment.
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Certificate 3 in Trade and 2 years of MIG Welding Experience including Stainless Steel.
