The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking applications from candidates who are interested in a career in the corrections industry.
We are looking to begin this course at the beginning of July. The role will be paying $32.40 per hour (Casual), with a pay increase after the 3-month period. This is an entry level role, where you will gain the experience needed to work in this field in training. We will be offering Permanent Full-time, Part-time, and Casual positions.

Benefits:

Work and study to receive a Certificate III in Correctional Practice from Ventia.
Paid training in Adelaide for 5 weeks, accommodation provided.

The Candidate:
Successful candidates should have a flexible approach and the skills and ability to deal with people from a differing and diverse range of backgrounds. You'll need to be able to communicate effectively and manage conflict or challenging situations in a calm and assured manner. Our officers are non-judgemental and committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Providing for the safety and security of Persons in Custody
Transport Persons in Custody as required
Care for Persons in Custody whilst admitted to Hospital
Care for Persons in Custody whilst in Court Custody

As a result, we seek to employ people who will succeed in this role and possess the following skills and experience:
High safety and security focus
Be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate
Ventia will provide you with all the professional training required to fully undertake and succeed in this role.
You will need to have Australian working rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for these positions.
