Australian based mining organisation seeking IT Systems/Support Engineer for 12 month contract role Your new company
A leading Australian based mining organisation with operations throughout the country is seeking an IT Systems/Support Engineer for an initial 12 month contract (with view to go permanent). This role will be in the form of a FIFO working model with flights conducted from either Brisbane or Townsville.
Your new role
Established many years ago, this organisation owns and operates multiples mine sites throughout Australia with its corporate offices in Melbourne. Within this diverse organisation, your new role will see you work within the site based multi-disciplinary Technology Support Team. Lead by the IT Superintendent, this team's focus is on the maintenance, support, upgrade, enhancement and rollout of key technological solutions throughout their central Queensland based mine site. The technologies this team work on are aimed at not only furthering the organisation's mining operations, but to improve the working lives of those across the site.

Alongside designing, building and maintaining current and new technical solutions, you may also manage vendors, suppliers and others (project dependent) to meet the goals set out by the companies roadmap and leadership.
With regards to the successful candidate's background, mining experience would of course be advantageous alongside having worked within the Operational Technology domain. However, due to the breadth of this role we are seeking good all round IT Systems/Support Engineers with experience across a range of hardware platforms, the Microsoft Eco system and networking technologies in large enterprise level environments.
The working hours (and conditions) for this role are on a FIFO (Fly In, Fly Out) basis from Townsville or Brisbane on varying rosters such as 8:6 (8 days on, 6 days off), 4:3 (4 days on, 3 days off), or a mixture of the two. These rosters will see you stay on site in central QLD during your rotation (with all flights, accommodation and meals paid for by the company) and returned back to either Townsville or Brisbane once the rotation is complete.
