Immediate Opportunity based in Sydney's Inner West Your new company This well renowned education provider based in Sydney's Inner West is looking to appoint an Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will oversee the transactional finance function as well as being responsible for the month-end tasks, reporting and budgeting, as well as providing ad hoc support to the Finance Director. Your new role This role sits within a finance team of 7 and reports directly to the Finance Director. Duties will include but not be limited to:
Prepare financial reports, profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow, month-end processes and prepare month-end and management reports
Support the preparation of a yearly budget with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that budgets are financially sustainable and align with objectives
Action and audit financial accounts to ensure they are fully compliant
Work collaboratively to identify and employ process improvement methods and apply innovative procedures
Produce forecasts and analysis of financial data, including recommending changes where required
Utilise financial acumen to oversee transactional flows and ensure general ledger accuracy
Perform financial record reconciliations including Fixed Asset Register, Bank and General Ledger
Manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring that processes are fit for purpose, accurate and relevant reports are produced
Manage the various aspects of the Accounts Receivable, as required
Undertake Payroll functions, as required
Perform month-end processes and prepare month-end reports
What you'll need to succeed You will be a confident and personable finance professional, with previous experience in a similar hands-on role. Previous school, college or educational facility experience would be highly advantageous. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
