Primo Foods are seeking a Food Technologist to assist Innovation Leaders and Team Members in the development, modification and implementation of product in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures and the appropriate Legislation and Standards.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Work closely with the Lead Product Developer to review, reformulate, and develop products & packaging to meet Company and Legislative standards.
Assist in the development and commercialisation of projects following the stage gate process, delivering on business plans & goals
Assist in identifying areas of improvement for current products and packaging to improve efficiency, cost, quality, safety and shelf life.
Work with key stake holders (Operations, Quality, and Innovations Teams) to optimise, improve & develop products & packaging
Carry out basic research on methods to improve quality of product, such as flavour, colour, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of foods.
Run trials autonomously in Pilot Plant to produce product samples and trial ingredients, casings and packaging
About you:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant food science or substantial experience in the food or smallgoods industry
Experience working in food in R&D, QA or Operations roles
Knowledge of FSANZ legal requirements
Demonstrated experience in product specification, development and maintenance
Awareness of legislative requirements and industry developments
Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook
The ability to prioritize tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously; and the ability to interface with all levels of management
Excellent attention to detail
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
Takes other's perspectives into consideration
Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
Sees an opportunity & takes action
