POSITION
Full time position is available for a Deck Hand in Cape Tribulation, QLD 4873.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a Certificate III and at least 1 year of relevant employment experience. If no relevant qualification, at least 2 years of relevant employment experience is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for guiding guests on board our boats and providing snorkeling tours to the Mackay Reef on the Great Barrier Reef. You will also be responsible for providing friendly and professional client service and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.
TASKS
• Handling and operating boating equipment such as ropes, wires and mooring equipment.
• Handling ropes during docking and undocking procedures.
• Assisting guests to safely embark and disembark off the boat.
• Snorkeling tour operations – briefings, lookout and guiding.
• General maintenance and checks of equipment and lifesaving appliances.
• Being aware of, performing and adhering to Workplace Health and Safety policies/procedures and in house policies/procedures as laid out in the SMS and operations manual.
• Ensuring excellent and professional client service by being courteous, welcoming, and informative by answering customer questions and providing insightful information.
• Using strong and effective communication methods with management and other staff.
• Using underwater camera (Go Pro) and use of editing software (Lightroom).
• Carrying out monthly drills with all crew.
ADDITONAL ATTRIBUTES
• The ability to consistently be a part of a strong vessel crew delivering outstanding experiences to our guests.
• Presentation & Punctuality.
• Desire to be part of a cohesive work environment.
• Ensuring that all relevant industry legislation is adhered to including WHS policies and procedures, Council requirements and in-house policies and procedures.
• Safe operation of snorkelling tours.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
First Aid – Mandatory
CPR with Oxygen Resuscitation – Mandatory
ESS – Preferred
Responsible Service of Alcohol – Preferred
Manual Drivers Licence - Mandatory
SALARY
The salary offered will be $60,000 – $70,000 based on experience.
