Due to the recent and upcoming further expansion of our business operations, CH on Peel Pty Ltd (trading as Central Hospitality Group) requires additional full time Kitchen Attendants.
Our operations are situated at Tamworth, in North West NSW, and include:
* CH Boutique Hotel (62 rooms);
* Heritage listed DECO Wine Bar & Restaurant;
* Hopscotch Restaurant;
* The Pig & Tinderbox;
* The Pavilion Function and Conference Centre;
* The Bureau by Red Ribbon; and
* Dungowan Brewery
The Position
You will have an opportunity to further develop your culinary skills in a variety of areas across our restaurant and subsidiary sites. The position involves food preparation duties and assistance to our Cooks / Chefs in five demanding high-end professional kitchens. The position is suitable only for candidates that like to work in a fast-paced supportive team, with the highest work ethics and ‘can-do’ attitude. The successful applicant must be available across a 7-day roster including early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
As a member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for collaborating with our existing staff cooks, chefs and restaurant managers in the overall running of our kitchens, leading by example and maintaining very high standards. You must be highly motivated and able to manage operational elements of our kitchens as directed to you. You will be passionate about your job and have a superior knowledge of the food and beverage industry.
Key duties of this role include:
* Prepare fresh ingredients as instructed by the Cook / Chef which includes washing vegetables, chopping meat and poultry into portions
* Assist with plating up of meals as instructed by Cook / Chef
* Store and rotate ingredients as instructed
* Wash dishes and cooking equipment during service
* Responsible for ensuring that equipment and kitchen areas meet the required hygiene standards.
* Ensure a safe and clean workspace is maintained
* Ensure the venue is supplied with sanitised, clean and dry operational equipment
* Correctly handle chemicals and equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions
* Ensure garbage is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift
* Store equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware hygienically and safety
The Person
* Diploma in kitchen operations or similar is desirable but not required
* Exceptional communication skills
* The ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Excellent time management skills
* Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment
* An enthusiastic and motivated approach to work
* Strong awareness of Hygiene & Food Safety Standards
* Must always be well presented, have a great work ethic and the ability to perform well under pressure
* A Positive can-do attitude and the ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays
