We are seeking applications for Mill hands (Labourers) to work at our Wondai Dry Timber Mill. Wondai is situated in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, Australia approximately half an hour from Kingaroy and just over 3 hours North West of Brisbane.
We are looking for 15 workers at the Wondai Dry Mill. Workers can apply and start immediately they pass induction and D&A test. Work is on-going with no end date.
Starting tasks include:
* Stacking timber from chain decks
* Grading timber for defects on the chain decks
* General mill cleaning
* Ensuring timber is stacked, tallied and packaged to specification.
You need to be able to:
* Meet deadlines and goals
* Work as part of a team and sometimes individually
* Perform repetitive manual handling tasks
* Show initiative and motivation
* Take direction, comply with and adhere to, Parkside Policies and Procedures.
What we can offer:
* We pay above award hourly rates (Timber Industry Award 2020 starting rate is $22.61, our starting rate will be $25.00 per hour).
* Opportunity exists to learn different roles and machines within the mill. Pay rates increase the more jobs you can do/the more machines you can run, in and around the mill
* 38 hour week, but some job roles can work 43 hours per week
* Rostered day off each month
* Secure ongoing permanent employment.
* Opportunities exist for on-the-job training (eg. Cert II in Timber Manufactured Products) for the right candidate.
