ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an Explosives Chemist to join our team located at our Yarloop manufacturing facility. As an Explosives Chemist, you will play a crucial role in our operations by conducting research, analysis, and development of explosive compounds, ensuring safety, compliance, and innovation in our processes.
Responsibilities include:
• Conducting research to develop new explosive formulations and improve existing ones.
• Testing and analysing explosive materials for safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Designing and implementing safety protocols for the handling, storage, and transportation of explosive compounds.
• Collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance product performance.
• Maintaining accurate records of experiments, test results, and safety procedures.
• Staying updated on industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to explosives.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience working as an Explosives Chemist or in a similar role within the explosives industry.
• Deep understanding of chemical principles, explosive properties, and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques, equipment, and instrumentation used in explosive analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing the handling, storage, and transportation of explosive materials.
• Experience with explosive synthesis, formulation, and testing methodologies is highly desirable.
SKILLS
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in experimental work and data analysis.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information.
• Adherence to strict safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
