Our client are a household name financial services firm with a well developed, structured procurement function, who, as a result of recent transformation and a variety of upcoming major projects, are currently seeking a suitably experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their team. Your new role Reporting to a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing a variety of sourcing, contract management and general strategic procurement activities across a portfolio of indirect spend. Key accountabilities include:
Taking the lead on sourcing activities end-to-end, focusing on alignment with business stakeholder needs and the broader category strategy.
Supporting the Category Manager to identify and deliver upon sourcing opportunities within your portfolio
Determining the best sourcing strategies and approaches, and approaching the market in a strategic and compliant manner
Proactive administration and management of strategic contracts, inclusive spend analytics, identification of scope creep and off-contract spend, and commercial KPI tracking/performance reporting
Interacting with internal stakeholders to assist in developing specifications and aligning procurement activities with broader business needs
Proactive management of portfolio working with Category/Contract Management - incl. contract expiry and sourcing pipeline to meet annual and quarterly plans
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll have a well-developed background with demonstrated experience leading sourcing activities and negotiations, as well as playing a key role in contributing to longer-term category strategy.
You'll understand procurement in a structured corporate environment, and ideally, you will understand working within a highly structured and governed corporate environment.
Exposure to the end-to-end procurement process from scope development through to contract execution and beyond is a core requirement of this role.
