About the Role
JBS Australia are currently recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the team at our Bordertown Plant (South Australia), east of Adelaide. This role will be responsible for providing maintenance, leadership and support across the maintenance team and greater business to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a full-time position with annual salary $70,000 to $120,000 plus superannuation according to organisational EBA-Industrial Agreement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
selecting tools and equipment
Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
Ensuring that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
Other responsibilities that may come up, such as projects etc.
About You
Mechanical experience of a minimum of 2 years
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team environment
Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
Sound computer skills
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired
