THE OPPORTUNITY
Location: Kilcoy
Kilcoy Global Foods currently has permanent opportunities for Maintenance Fitters to join our team in a fast-paced, 24/7 beef production environment. Work environments will vary from agricultural, production, refrigeration, coal fired boiler and rendering.
YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES
Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance.
Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and legislative requirements in the workplace, including quality controls.
REMUNERATION
$42.16 per hour
Night Shift is $48.97 per hour
ROSTER
Day Shift | 04:00 - 16:00hrs
Night Shift | 16:00 - 04:00hrs
5 days on, 4 days off then 4 days on, 5 days off
ABOUT YOU
Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
Reliable, motivated self-starter.
Can-do attitude, focusing on solutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
Experience with beef slaughter equipment highly regarded.
Associated downstream offal and rendering plant and equipment experience highly regarded.
Downstream processing experience including boning, chilling, packaging, labelling and transfer systems highly regarded.
Unlimited working rights within Australia.
Driver's licence and reliable vehicle or reliable means of getting to work.
Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever.
