Swietelsky Rail Australia (SRA) is a leading railway infrastructure maintenance company specialising in the use of mechanised plant and track machines to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of rail networks. We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Specialist for Resurfacing to join our Technical and Risk team. Reporting to the Director of Technical and Risk, you will lead the technical support and monitor machine performance and operational and maintenance standards for SRA’s resurfacing.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:
Review and develop operational and maintenance training packages for the resurfacing team.
Assist the maintenance team with strategies for planned and unplanned maintenance and capital expenditure projects.
Support the maintenance team as required for fault finding and diagnostics.
Provide guidance on the technical direction of operational and maintenance activities.
Conduct structured quality assurance reviews to improve operational and maintenance strategies, optimising equipment reliability.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Trade equivalent with vast experience with Plasser On Track Machines.
Demonstrated operational and maintenance experience on On Track Machines (Plasser & Theurer), including brake down analysis.
Root cause analysis skills to identify and prevent faults.
Demonstrable understanding of operational system for Plasser On Track Machines. (09-3XD, SSP303, 08 275-3S Unimat)
Proficient with Microsoft Office including MS Projects and Excel.
Motivated work ethic and ability to think strategically and communicate clearly.
Additional information
The position will be based out of our Telarah office with travel required for projects, predominantly within the Hunter Valley ARTC rail network and other areas across regional NSW area and interstate as necessary.
The position will be subject to SRA employment conditions and supporting conditions in accordance with the Rail Industry Award.
