Due to the increase in projects, we are seeking passionate Dump Truck Operators to join our rapidly growing Open Pit operations team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Open Pit Truck Operator at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to safely drive large dump trucks to move extracted materials including ore and waste rock from the mining pit to dumping areas. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Drive dump trucks such as CAT 777, 785, 789 and water carts.
Conduct pre-starts on equipment prior to operation. Conclude shift with post-shift checks; cleaning and refuelling equipment where appropriate.
Interpret, understand and apply survey instructions and plans.
Operate equipment to "Best Practice" standards to minimise damage to equipment.
Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with the Open Pit Shift Supervisor and cross-shift operator.
Follow and interpret mine plan instructions to achieve good quality production results in a timely manner.
Ensure minimal disruptions to the loading and haulage cycle.
ABOUT YOU
At least 12 months of dump truck experience (Essential).
Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
Ability to operate dump trucks such as CAT 777, 785, 789 and water carts.
Senior First Aid Certificate (Desirable).
