Duties and Responsibilities:
*Set up and operate paper guillotines for pre-press and post-press paper cutting and trimming
*Utilise tools such as rotary trimmers, cutting mats, precision knives and various types of scissors to cut print materials to precise sizes and shapes
*Set up and operate folding machinery to fold printed materials accurately and efficiently
*Fold and collate by guillotine and folding machinery and hand
*Bind full, half and limp-bound books, and repair bindings
*Inspect final products for inconsistencies or flaws
*Perform routine checks and basic maintenance to ensure machines operate optimally
*Monitor materials used in the finishing process to ensure there are sufficient supplies and organise their replenishment as and when needed
*Responsible for the final assembly of complex print products
*Demonstrate good attention to detail and time management skills to meet production deadlines
*Adapt to learn new equipment and processes as required
*Comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations and company policies
Qualifications and Experience:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years of full-time relevant experience may substitute the need for formal qualifications.
