Due to the increase in projects, we are seeking passionate Ancillary Operators to join our rapidly growing Open Pit Operations team.



ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Open Pit All Rounder/ Ancillary Operator at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to safely drive large dump trucks to move extracted materials including ore and waste rock from the mining pit to dumping areas. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.



WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Operate excavators/dozers/graders/trucks such as 1250 Komastsu, D10 dozers, Cat 14 & 16 M graders, CAT 777, 785, 789 trucks and water carts.
Interpret, understand and apply survey instructions and dig plans.
Complete daily take 5 and JSA risk assessment as required when performing tasks
Ability to exercise good judgment and be innovative in selecting, using and improving the correct procedure, process or technique to solve problems, execute tasks and safely operate required machinery.
Be able to complete competently machine challenge evaluation for all machines.
Give clear precise directions when working with other machinery.
Complete daily take five and JSA risk assessment as required when performing tasks.
Be able to complete competently machine challenge evaluation for all machines.
Ensure minimal disruptions to the loading and haulage cycle.


ABOUT YOU

At least 12 months of all-rounder experience and 2 years of mining experience (Essential).
Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
Familiar with excavators/dozers/graders/trucks such as 1250 Komastsu, D10 Dozers, Cat 14 & 16 M Graders, CAT 777, 785, 789 Trucks and Water Carts (or other similar machinery in dimension).
Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of Open-Pit mining equipment.
