On behalf of our client, Samphire Rottnest, located on the premiere tourist destination Rottnest Island, are well known for offering a unique experience with amazing views over Thomson Bay. They are looking for enthusiastic, skilled Gardener to join their team on a full-time basis.
Tasks & Duties:
- Maintain and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations.
- Perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking.
- Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
- Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as plant vehicles, and small diggers.
- Service all garden equipment and machinery.
- Maintain a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the garden and grounds.
- Provide guidance to management on matters related to the garden.
- Advise management on the costs of plants and garden necessities with detailed written quotations and reports.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations.
- Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.
Skills and experience
- At least 2 years relevant experience
- At least Certificate III or higher in relevant qualification
- Ability to prioritize and organise work assignments.
- Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.
- Ability to focus attention on details, speed, and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
- Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
- Work unsupervised around the Venue, showing initiative.
- Energetic, fit, and active worker.
- Must possess a healthy work attitude and the ability to engage with other staff in a positive team environment.
- Safety awareness
- Positive, friendly, approachable disposition.
Salary from $70,000 per anum.
