The duties and responsibilities for the position of Chef include, but are not limited to the following;
• Demonstrate sophisticated cooking skills and techniques
• Assisting Head Chef & Sous Chef with planning and developing menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
• Liaise with the Head Chef & Sous Chef in relation to the daily menu changes and liaise and coordinate with all kitchen staff
• Preparing, cook and serve high quality dishes
• Knowledge and enforcing hygiene and safety regulations
• Knowledge of standard procedures and policies relating to food preparation, receiving, preserving, freezing, and storing all food products;
• Train staff in the preparation and cooking of dishes and the procedures within the kitchen in accordance with the standards set out by the head chef

The duties and responsibilities for the positions of Cook include, but are not limited to the following;
• Perform tasks under the directions of the Executive Chef & Sous Chef
• Prepare & Cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
• Adhere to all food safety & sanitation guidelines
• Contribute ideas for menu development with senior chefs
• Demonstrate proficiency in various cooking techniques
• Manage and maintain inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies
• Assist in ordering supplies
• Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet quality standards and presentation guidelines
• Keep kitchen area clean and organised
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate food preparation and service
• Participate in training sessions to stay update on industry standards and best practices.


Skills and experience required for the position:

Requirements for Chef
Minimum formal relevant qualification of a Diploma or higher;
Full-time recent relevant Work Experience of at least 2 years;
If no formal qualifications, recent relevant Work Experience of at least 3 years.

Requirements for Cook
Minimum formal relevant qualification of a Certificate III (with 2 years on-the-job training) or Certificate IV;
Full time recent relevant Work Experience of at least 2 years;
If no formal qualifications, recent relevant Work Experience of at least 3 years.
