Kogan People Solutions is retained to assist our client, who run a well-established popular Mexican restaurant in Geelong, Vic

About the full time, ongoing role:

Offering modern Mexican inspired choices this beautifully designed restaurant celebrates mouth-watering favourites and special dishes, catering to all budgets, along with great service. Keen to cement their reputation they now seek a skilled and qualified full time Chef to help lead the kitchen team to achieving even greater success.

Salary

Salary in the range $70k to $75k plus superannuation per annum will be offered to the successful applicant

Tenure

This is a full time, ongoing position.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.

• Prepare and cook meals and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff.

• Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.

• Develop, test, and introduce new menu items.

• Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards

• Work alongside the management team

About you

• You have a passion for the hospitality industry and are up to date on techniques and food trends.

• You can demonstrate an unwavering commitment to flavour and presentation of the highest quality, whilst aligning and motivating a cohesive and hardworking team environment.

To succeed in this role, you

• Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Diploma level.

• Have at least 2 to 3 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.

• Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.

• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.

• Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.

• Understand cost control, time management, prioritization and cost-efficient procurement practices.

• Have substantial experience working in a similar role / cuisine / environment.

• You are an excellent people manager, with great comms skills, able to get the most out of your team.

• Offer unrestricted full time Australian working rights.
