ABOUT THE DIVISION AND THE BRANCH Budget Policy and Data Division is responsible for Finances contributions to the annual budget process and leads Finances data governance activities. It has a centre of expertise in data analytics to assist teams across the department. The division provides advice on whole of government budget trends and policy issues, budget processes, and methodologies for compiling budget estimates. Working closely with the other central agencies, the division coordinates the annual Budget process and coordinates information and advice to Government from Agency Advice Units and other central agencies about budget issues and new policy proposals to provide advice to Government. The division produces and maintains the Budget Process Operational Rules (which are agreed by Government), provides guidance to portfolio agencies
