The Opportunity
Randstad is proud to be partnering with Rivergum Homes to present a newly established role dedicated to leading commercial and procurement functions within the Rivergum Group. This opportunity offers a professional avenue for individuals looking to progress within the Commercial/Procurement sector of the residential construction industry.
Based at their Mile End Head Office and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will operate at both strategic and operational levels, demonstrating commercial acumen, professionalism and expertise within sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier stakeholder management. The successful incumbent will be responsible for competitively sourcing and negotiating materials, services, and supplies while ensuring compliance with specified requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Source and lead supplier and labour negotiations for goods and services within residential construction
Secure supplier and labour contract agreements and maintain post contract performance
Develop and maintain supplier qualification and quality assurance guidelines, systems, and databases
Oversee contract management including supplier performance evaluation, adherence to KPIs, pricing evaluation, and rebates
Review, evaluate and optimise expiring contracts
Prepare and present commercial reports to the Executive Leadership Team on financial and operational performance on a monthly basis
Mitigate potential risks and address identified issues from proposed plans and strategies
Engage in cross divisional collaboration to comprehensively grasp procurement specifications for essential goods and services ensuring on time fulfilment of scheduling requirements
Develop robust sourcing and supply strategies in alignment with business needs
Proactively source and provide purchasing advice and recommendations on new products and suppliers

Selection Criteria

Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Commerce, or Business Administration or equivalent vocation experience
Demonstrated experience in procurement or senior estimator roles, preferably within residential construction
Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach and strong organisational abilities
Ability to work in a face paced environment and confident decision making skills
Proficient in analytical thinking, negotiation, prioritisation, and customer relations
Proven experience interpreting purchasing needs and making decisions on building materials acquisition
Understanding of residential construction techniques, operational management, and relevant regulations
