Nashco is an Australian owned and operated family business supplying the construction industry with metal building products for the drywall industry. We provide custom suspended ceiling systems, steel wall framing systems and more to Sydney and Canberra. We currently have a position available for a Civil Engineering Technician.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Head of Client Solutions, the Civil Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in designing, engineering, and documenting projects within set budgets and timelines. The focus is on maintaining quality standards and delivering tailored solutions to clients.
Responsibilities:
• Design & Engineering:
• Collaborate with the Design Team to prioritise and allocate resources.
• Understand project scopes and client expectations.
• Brainstorm with internal and external stakeholders for innovative solutions.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and read plans for data extraction.
• Engineering:
• Utilize software like AutoCAD, Inventor or Revit, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, etc., for engineering solutions.
• Follow up with stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Cross-check and sign off on drawings and documentation.
• Drawing & Documentation:
• Efficiently use software tools for drawing and documentation.
• Proactively follow up with resources to meet budget and timeline requirements.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering on expectations.
• Client Support:
• Provide technical advisory and troubleshoot for clients.
• Handle technical product inquiries and conduct training sessions.
• Maintain product compliance and build a technical library.
• Continuous Improvement & LEAN:
• Actively contribute to team improvement sessions and training.
• Enhance product and industry knowledge continuously.

Communication and Reporting:
• Daily WIP meetings with the Manager.
• Daily progress reports via email.
• Daily priority updates meetings with the Design Team.
• Weekly Business Performance Meetings via video calls.

• Work closely with the Management Team, Design and Client Support Team, External Engineers, Customers, and Suppliers.
Skills Required:

Qualifications and Experience:
• Suitable certification or relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment.
