The Job Role
Komcat Electro is seeking experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanics for Plant, Earthmoving, Excavation, and Construction machinery and diesel vehicles. Sponsorship is available for suitable applicants.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Work on plant, excavation, construction, and earth moving machines
* Dismantle or Assemble equipment parts for repair and refurbishing
* Identify and repair mechanical parts
* Examine bearings
* Tension and align V- belts
* Cut and fit gaskets
* Start a four-stroke petrol/diesel engine
* Maintain clutches, cylinder heads, lubrication systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, and auto-electrical systems
* Repair a steering system
* Overhaul a power transmission
* Grind valves
* Assemble a differential and final drive
* Tune up an engine fitted with a distributor or in-line fuel system
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 3 years of experience is preferred
* Additional experience may be considered in lieu of qualifications
* Attention to detail and pride in work
* Knowledge in principles of pneumatics and hydraulics
* Previous experience with plant, excavation, construction, and earth moving machine mechanisms - including brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Hitachi
* Understanding of workplace health and safety
* Ability to work independently and with a team
* Positive and motivated
Salary
The Annual Salary Range (not including superannuation) is from $59,000 to $70,000 which is negotiable and commensurate to qualifications, skills, & experience.
