They now seek an experienced Welder to join their team in Preston.

The Role
The position is for an annual salary of $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
selecting, cleaning and preparing steel profiles
cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
finishing products by cleaning, polishing, cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, sanding and grinding
use personal protective equipment at all times
material preparation for successful joining
aork accurately, check measurements
assemble frames to be straight and square
The Requirements:
Relevant trade qualifications
At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience
Must have MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment
At least 2 years’ experience with the following types of welding:
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) (Mandatory)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) (Advanced)
Strong knowledge of all types of welding processes
Ability to efficiently read and interpret drawings
Sound knowledge and ability to competently use hand, air and power tools
Possess a can-do attitude and excellent time management
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good numeracy skills, be able communicate effectively in written and spoken English
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required
Driver’s license
