Swietelsky Rail Australia (SRA) is a leading railway infrastructure maintenance company specialising in the use of mechanised plant and track machines to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of rail networks. We operate and maintain a variety of Plasser & Theurer track machines and other rail plant including Ballast Cleaners, Material Handling Wagons, Tampers, Regulators and Flash Butt Welding Machines. We are currently seeking a Ballast Cleaning Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our ballast cleaning operations, from delivering a quality product on track to coordinating the maintenance of the machines at our Telarah Depot. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining our policies, procedures, and compliance to regulations. The successful applicant will be responsible for machine performance, quality control and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:
• Supervise and coordinate ballast cleaning activities on railway tracks.
• Manage a team of operators and technicians to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Schedule and plan daily work assignments, considering project timelines and client requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance and optimal performance of the ballast cleaning machines.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment usage and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Essential Criteria
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience in a Senior supervisor role.
• Mechanical or Electrical trade and/or 5 + years working on Plasser and Theuer Machines.
• Previous experience of working with/on Plasser and Theuer Track Machines.
• Strong commitment to safety and Zero Harm.
• Good organisation and communication skills.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
• Ability to work weekends and nights if required.
• Ability to travel/work away from home when required.
• Sound proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite.
