Position: Accountant
Salary: $75,000 plus 11% Superannuation
Location: 56 Ryley Street, Wangaratta VIC 3677
Mode: Full Time (38 hours per week)
Experience: 2 years plus experience
About Us:
Parkview Motor Inn is a well-established hospitality entity located in the scenic region of Wangaratta, offering a blend of comfort and convenience to our guests. We are looking for a diligent and experienced In-House Accountant to enhance our financial operations.
The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Maintain accurate records of all sales and purchases, payroll, and other financial transactions across business operations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts, supporting analyses, and reconciliations for inclusion in financial reports.
• Manage and supervise payroll data to ensure accurate weekly payroll processing.
• Prepare and forecast the business’s budgetary plans, working closely with management to ensure adherence to budgets.
• Assist in preparing Business Activity Statements and Financial Statements while ensuring compliance with all business and statutory requirements.
• Conduct financial audits, prepare reports, and communicate any anomalies directly to the Director.
• Represent the business in dealings with financial institutions and government organizations for financial and accounting purposes.
• Monitor operating costs and identify savings, while implementing technology to advance business practices.
• Update and maintain control systems, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements of each customer and keeping management informed of developments.
• Participate in and advise on capital investment decisions to optimize financial outcomes.
• Evaluate the performance of business assets, ensuring accuracy of operational and financial reports.
• collaboratively with various departments on accounting projects.
• Complete month-end procedures, including preparing general journals and depreciation schedules for assets.

Qualifications
• Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting
• Excellent use of Word, Excel, outlook, Xero and MYOB
Other Skills & Responsibilities:
• Ability to maintain up to date knowledge of taxation and other relevant legislation
• Ability to accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings
• Excel in Accounting software to manage the pricing of voice and data solutions
• Knowledge in all regulatory requirements specific to the communications industry in addition to the standard corporate compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills both within the department and with other business stakeholders
• Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and previous experience with industry accounting
