We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Health and Safety Manager to join our team based in the Sodexo Head Office working within the E&R Mining Sector and reporting to the Health and Safety Manager. This Permanent role is being offer on a 5 days on 2 days off / 4 days on 3 days off roster and requires site travel to the Pilbara region as needed.
You will work closely with operations and our client to assist with the management of HSE objectives, strategies and accountabilities. You will schedule HSE functions to support operations and act as a point of contact for operational and business departments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute health and safety plans
- Prepare and enforce policies to drive culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and work with IM platform
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
