About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager that has a strong work ethic, has the ability to work individually but love being part of a team.

Responsibilities:
• Review and update food safety and quality management programs ensuring Sonoma achieves and maintains WSE and HACCP certification
• Review HACCP plans
• Regularly conduct staff training and measurements to maintain consistency across the board for both existing and new employees and ensure all initiatives and programs are documented for future mentoring and training
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Process and foreign object audits are performed throughout production, warehouse and dispatch areas
• Facilitate full Root Cause Analysis on all foreign object findings. Provide trending reports on foreign object findings
• Implement appropriate corrective actions, including full Root Cause Analysis, in conjunction with other departments and verify
• Coordinate regular HACCP review meetings
• Attend management review meetings
• Coordinate prerequisite programs for the food safety programs
• Attend HACCP audits and verification; and provide documents for third party auditing of HACCP and other certification including WSE, including being on site for all audits
• Assess suppliers to determine supply of safe and quality products to minimize non-conformances. Review and update approved supplier program
• Ensure our customer complaint handling policy meets customer satisfaction and corrective action taken to resolve quality issues in conjunction with the operations manager.
• Undertake annual label reviews to ensure labels are in accordance with FSANZ Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and WSE
• Assist with the development of finished product specifications (meeting current government legislation) and arrange NIP for NPD once at approval level
• Manage pest control activities at Alexandria by liaising with pest controller to take corrective action as required and review pest control reports and audits to ensure corrective action is taken by appropriate parties
• Develop and conduct food safety and quality training and presentations
• Maintain and improve quality, food safety and hygiene within area of responsibility and take corrective action in response to quality, food safety and hygiene non-compliance
• People Management –set clear expectations, measure progress and provide feedback against expectations. Motivate and develop team by providing challenging opportunities and empower team to make decisions themselves.
• Ensure that quality KPIs are priority over production targets

About You:
• Degree Level qualification
• Minimum 2 years proven experience and strong understanding in quality assurance in food manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to identify areas of improvement and drive process improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of quality assurance best practices and techniques
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
