Acu-Tech, a nationwide leader in the manufacture and supply of polyethylene pipe, products and services, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our experienced and service orientated team.
The role is mainly involved in the fabrication, fitting and assembling of structural components of equipment hire welders and scrapers. You will be joining a tight knit highly skilled team who value workmanship, and a well-established Polyethylene Pipe manufacturer.
Responsibilities of the role includes but are not limited to:
• Prepare maintenance schedules and quality checks.
• Fault finding and diagnostic testing to determine root causes of equipment/machine malfunctions.
• Fabricating metal parts by analyzing blue prints and specifications and determining suitable materials, methods and operations sequence.
• Setting up and operating machining tools for pressing, cutting, boring, drilling, threading and bending.
• Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts onto welders and/or scrapers.
• Conduct quality inspections on fitted parts to ensure accuracy, clearance and fit.
• Replacing damaged/faulty components on equipment/machinery as needed.
• Accurate record keeping of all maintenance and repairs.
• Adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements to be successful
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role and responsibilities
• A relevant Engineering Degree or diploma
• A team player with a can do attitude
