Your new role As a Senior Solicitor, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality legal advice under the guidance of the Manager. You will play a key role in reviewing and advising on the application of legislation, coordinating infringement activities, and assessing cases from regulated entities. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing legal aspects of regulatory instrument reviews and drafting new legislation.
Providing expert legal advice to senior management and various committees.
Briefing and managing external law firms and counsel as needed.
Supporting regulatory projects, drafting strategic plans, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Developing guidelines and training materials for new regulations and legislation.
Processing infringement notices and managing legal reporting requirements.
What you'll need to succeed You will need to have relevant tertiary qualifications in Law and be admitted to practice as an Australian Lawyer with a current Practising Certificate in Victoria. The ideal candidate would have:
3+ Years PAE.
A strong background in regulatory law, preferably within a regulatory agency or in-house at a law firm.
Experience in providing detailed legal advice and managing multiple legal tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the legislative process.
A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high ethical standards.
