Paramount Smash Repairs is a family owned and operated business providing car servicing, repairs and maintenance, panel beating and spray painting/collision repairs.
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Spray Paint Supervisor to join our team. Your responsibilities will include refining vehicle panels by smoothing out rough spots, using both manual sanding techniques and power sanders. You'll also be tasked with the precise application of masking materials to protect designated areas from paint, ensuring a clean and professional finish. This role involves colour matching and paint mixing, utilizing pre-mixed paints and selecting shades that match the vehicle's original colour.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare vehicle surfaces by removing imperfections and smoothing rough spots.
• Use hand and power sanders to achieve a smooth surface for painting.
• Apply masking tape and paper to areas not to be painted, ensuring accurate coverage.
• Match and mix paints to achieve the desired colour, using pre-mixed paints as needed.
• Apply primer and finishing coats using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and quality finishes.
• Perform sanding between coats to achieve a smooth and seamless paint job.
• Touch up paintwork as necessary and apply polish for a glossy appearance.
• Remove masking materials, wax, and polish finished paintwork for a clean and polished look.
• Create and paint signs and artwork on vehicles as required.
• Treat vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals to prevent corrosion.

Requirements:
• Suitable certification or relevant experience.
• At least two years of proven experience in vehicle painting or a related field in a similar environment.

Skills:
• Familiarity with painting techniques, including sanding, masking, and colour matching.
• Ability to use hand and power sanders effectively.
• Proficiency in mixing and applying paint using spray guns.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of rust-proofing techniques and chemicals is a plus.
Salary $75 - $95 pa
