Wangaratta Rural Supplies, independently owned rural merchandise store, has been operating since 2004. We cater for rural property owners growing a huge variety of crops or running livestock, as well as hobby farmers, home gardeners and pet owners.
An opportunity has arisen for a Branch Manager to join our team.
The position would suit either an experienced Rural Merchandise Manager.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the branch, ensuring a great customer service experience and strong customer relationships
• Managing a small team; providing leadership, direction and coaching to enhance performance of the team
• Maximising budgets and profitability through effective stock management and purchasing
• Execute and maintain all processes relating to stock integrity
• Business planning, including preparation and analysis of budgets
• Ensure the general merchandising, housekeeping and maintenance of the branch meets a high and safe standard
• Create and maintain excellent relationships between our business partners/suppliers
• Provide outstanding customer service via phone, email and in store
• Oversee and ensure safe branch practices

Skills, Experience & Attributes:
• Previous experience working in a similar role involving management and retail sales, ith a proven sales history
• Previous experience or strong understanding of budgeting and expense management with a basic understanding of financial practices
• Able to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
• Strong people skills; able to mentor and lead a team
• Proven customer service and organisational skills
• Able to analyse problems and strategise for better solutions
• High attention to detail with ability to prioritise and execute tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge or understanding of cropping, agricultural chemicals, animal health, stock feeds and fencing are essential
• Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude

The following attributes are essential:
• Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture
• Forklift ticket (or an ability to obtain one)
• Current Drivers Licence
• National Police Check (no more than 3 months old)
• Current Working with Children Check
The salary on offer will be commensurate with experience and will include a base salary, super and phone.
The successful applicant will be required to work Monday–Friday and rostered Saturday mornings in the store.
