Supervisors at McHugh Steel (Reference number QLD-24-15-L0SB)
McHugh Steel has now been in operation in Queensland for 16 years and our operation is growing. We are looking for people for the factory operations.
We require 5 full-time staff working a minimum 38 hours a week. Successful applicants will work across both our Manufacturing and Maintenance teams commencing July 2024. The work will be based at the following site:
-14 Eva Street, Kensington, QLD, 4660
Work will be primarily Supervising the Manufacturing and Maintenance Teams.
The duties of the work will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and controlling the production and manufacturing activities in the factory, including:
o Ensure accurate daily tallies of production.
o Maintain accurate records and orders.
o Working with transport to ensure timely delivery of products.
o Assist with completion of all necessary documentation upon job completion.
o Work with the management teams to meet required safety and quality standards.
o Manage, pick and pack stock into boxes when required.
o Assign tasks to maximise to the workers in an appropriate manner
Applicants must:
- Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Be fit and healthy; not be colour blind or vision impaired (as the role requires employees to pick colours of coil required for the job);
- Be able to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Be able to acquire good speed and to learn manual tasks
- Be able to follow instructions, learn and apply new process quickly
- Be able to work in a team environment.
When Supervisor work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, all work is performed under the Manufacturing and Associated Industries Award 2020. The Classification a Supervisors is paid is Classification 10 (C10) and the rate will be $26.18. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be paid if you are trained in extra tasks, machinery operating or first aid.
When Factory Work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, all work is performed under the Manufacturing and Associated Industries Award 2020, Classification 13 (C13) and the minimum rate is $23.23 per hour. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be
paid if you are trained in extra tasks, leading hand or first aid. Factory Management will advise if the work you are doing is not considered to be supervisory.
Hours worked will generally be Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. Weekend work may occasionally be required.
