A unique, remote position has opened up for a Corporate Senior Tax Accountant within a well-rooted organisation based in Cairns. This role is an ideal fit for individuals seeking the flexibility of a 100% remote work arrangement within a corporate framework.
Your new role
In this dynamic and multifaceted position, your responsibilities will encompass managing financial processes and reporting. Your duties will include:

Guiding operational tasks or projects as needed.
Contributing to the creation and ongoing enhancement of procedures and internal controls.
Overseeing the monthly financial reporting process, which includes preparing the Group's management accounts and ensuring compliance with IFRS.
Managing the annual financial reporting process, including the preparation of statutory accounts for group entities and all necessary documentation for the annual external audit.
Monitoring and reconciling key ledger accounts, and supervising reconciliations carried out by other Finance staff.
Leading the Group's compliance with legislative requirements for GST, payroll tax, FBT, and other employment taxes, including the preparation of all relevant monthly returns.
Preparing the Group's income tax returns in collaboration with external tax advisors and assisting with ongoing compliance with income tax legislation.
Maintaining cost centre and GL structures, as well as management reporting structures in the financial system.

What you'll need to succeed
Considering that this role is a remote position, we are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and self-motivate. You should possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

Possession of a professional accounting certificate (CA or CPA)
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial accounting role.
A strong dedication to customer service and continuous improvement.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Familiarity with accounting software.
Advanced interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship building and influencing.
Prior experience in a construction or project accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.
