Bunbury Toyota is looking for Light Vehicle Mechanic to join their team based in Bunbury, WA.
Purpose/Main area of Responsibilities:
Qualifications as a Technician
- Must possess industry level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Technician in relevant state, territory or jurisdiction?
- Developed knowledge of the automotive industry
- Ability to work productively in an autonomous environment
- Highly motivated
- Customer Service focused
- Valid driver’s license
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Perform repair and maintenance work on vehicles, in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the manufacturer and service management.
- Ensure that all the work requested by the customer is carried out, correct and to the standards set by the manufacturer and service management.
- If unsure of customers concerns, ask for clarification from the service advisor or foreman.
- Assist the spare parts department in expediting parts orders to avoid time wastage while waiting for parts.
- Notify workshop foreman or service advisor if delays are expected or if a part needs to be ordered.
General Duties
- Clock on and off all repair orders
- Ensure a clear and detailed explanation of all work done is written on the repair order including nature of system and cause of failure.
- Ensure that all workshop repair materials used (oils etc) during the repair of a vehicle is charged on the repair order.
- Do not waste workshop repair materials.
- Do not misuse workshop equipment. Keep equipment and specialized tools clean and in good working order.
- Report to the workshop foreman any damaged or broken workshop equipment and any shortages of workshop repair materials.
- Tag all warranty parts and put them into the allocated container.
- Maintain immediate work area clean and safe, ensure 5s at all times.
- Maintain workshop amenities clean.
- Dispose of all displaced parts and hazardous wastes in the correct manner so not to contravene any current environmental legislation.
- Supervision and training of apprentices.
- Perform other duties when requested by the service manager.
- All special tools removed from tool room, require technician tag to be displayed
- Give special attention to repeat repairs, to ensure the problem is corrected at this time so future comebacks are avoided.
- Have pride of workmanship, do not take short cuts and maintain cleanliness of the customer’s car.
- Any diagnostic repairs exceeding 1 hour workshop foreman needs to be advised for assistance.
- Comply with TSM Requirements as set by the TSM Leader
