Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Buyer to join our team at Betta Home Living Narrogin. The Retail Buyer will play a pivotal role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to ensure our product offerings meet customer demands while aligning with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product Selection and Procurement:
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and emerging product categories.
Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms to secure advantageous agreements.
Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining quality standards.
• Inventory Management:
Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimise stock levels, minimise excess inventory, and reduce carrying costs.
Monitor sales performance, analyse inventory turnover rates, and adjust purchasing decisions accordingly.
• Price and Margin Management:
Negotiate pricing terms with suppliers to maximise margins and profitability.
Regularly review pricing strategies and adjust as needed to maintain competitiveness and achieve sales targets.
• Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking opportunities to expand supplier network.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, and operations teams to align buying decisions with business goals.
Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding product specifications, delivery schedules, and any issues or concerns that may arise.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to product safety and quality.
Conduct product inspections and quality checks to verify adherence to specifications and standards.
Address any quality issues or product defects in a timely and effective manner, working with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Suitable certification or relevant experience.
At least two years of experience in a similar environment.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
