The Procurement Manager - Indirects plays a crucial role in the procurement portfolio within the Sodexo Australia Supply Management team and sets strategic direction for the Indirects Categories under management.

Reporting to the Head Indirects and Fleet Procurement, the role is responsible for executing procurement methodologies (source to contract), managing procurement projects and providing direct support across operations relative to supply chain requests, challenges and functional support

Who are we Looking for?

We seek a professional with experience across multiple categories, who is adaptable, agile and demonstrates a strong issue resolution and customer service focus.  You will have the capacity to play an active role in related inputs into all core bids and tenders, as well as drive client site mobilisation activities related to the supply.

Key Duties:

  • Management of the source to contract process including development of a procurement register that details all engagements
  • Set source to contract targets
  • Liaise with project leads and procurement team by co-ordination of purchases to ensure total cost ownership and reduce risk
  • Provide ‘off-shelf’ alternatives that form a differentiating offering, accurate and timely response to tenders
  • Engage with the business development and projects teams to provide pre-established cost models per alternatives to support bid success
  • Management of contracts to ensure cost, quality and delivery requirements
  • Procurement analysis & reporting and maintain accurate sourcing cost models across all categories
  • Procurement process compliance

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Procurement/Source to contract/Category management
  • Min., Degree in Business, preferable in Supply Chain Management/ Procurement OR demonstrable experience and achievements in similar / relevant.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading a range of procurement activities, ideally across Indirects/food services / manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, etc
  • Experience in day-to-day category / supply management across in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-site / multi-product operating environment

Skills / Attributes

  • Able to connect with diverse stakeholders across the business and functional groups to resolve day-to-day operational issues related to safety and security of supply in a timely manner, and to the full satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed functional experience, and financial / commercial / business acumen in supporting (and leading) the development and implementation of category strategies.
  • Comfortable with analytics (and Excel) and working with large date sets. Well-developed capability in working through data gaps through the application of critical thinking and hypothesis methods in ‘getting to an answer’.
  • Customer focused, and excellent influencing and negotiation skills teamed with the ability to understand key stakeholder requirements and build strong relationships. Able to remain calm and resilient and manage hard discussions in an empathetic but factual and data-driven manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and implementing changes in business processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the hierarchy, with excellent written, verbal and reporting skills.
  • Excellent personal time management and organisational skills including a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a planned and methodical approach to projects, work tasks and activities.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a self-managed mode, as well as part of a large team.
