About the role
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced Sustainability Advisor to join Epping Road Upgrade Project based in Wollert/Epping.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in inspecting, monitoring and providing sustainability advice to site.

As A Sustainability Advisor, you will also be accountable for the following:
- Assist the Environment & Sustainability Manager implement, review and continually improve the Sustainability Management System that ensures the Project meets its sustainability objectives.
- Inspiring and raising awareness of a sustainable mindset, practices, and approach with all persons in the job vicinity.
- Report, investigate and implement corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of unsustainable practices.
- Ensure that sustainable acceptable working methods and practices are implemented and that plant and equipment is properly operated and maintained, to enable operations to be carried out without environmental harm.
- Promptly advise management of any issues that could be deleterious to the community or environment.
- Review, instruct, record, and report all sustainability matters relating to any given works area of the project.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, and legal obligations.
- Ensure that all personnel are inducted, trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities relating to sustainability management and compliance.
- Identify areas for improvement, review and ensure compliance to sustainability procedures.
- Monitoring progress with sustainability targets and manage reporting on sustainability performance.
About your capability, behaviours and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in area of Sustainability, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related field.
- Knowledge and appreciation of current sustainability issues and skills in strategy development, systems approach, stakeholder engagement, performance management, project management, training & communication, benchmarking, auditing, data verification / non-financials, business case.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to prepare high standard reports and documents.
- Competent in use of MS Office and SharePoint.
