Team Leadership: effectively manage and lead a team of senior claims specialists. This involves setting clear expectations and role clarity for team members, providing guidance and support, and ensuring efficient handling of motor insurance claims. Claim Settlement: oversee the process of evaluating, negotiating, and settling motor insurance claims in accordance with strategies, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Conflict Resolution: handling escalated or complex claims issues, disputes, or complaints effectively and professionally. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Utilise data analysis tools and techniques to develop and implement performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of the performance of the settlements teams against established KPIs. Provide regular reports and papers to senior management, showcasing performance insights, trends, achievements and areas for improvement. Responsible for oversight of the contentious and complex claims register and complaint management within the department. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and efficiency gains in the claims handling process, particularly with technical aspects, quality standards, and overall optimisation. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with insurance regulatory and compliance obligations within the motor claims operations. Establish and monitor quality control measures to assess the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of claims process and obligations. This will involve reviewing team audit findings, control testing and developing action plans to address any identified gaps or areas for improvement. Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships and effective collaboration and communication with internal stakeholders, including managers, leaders, consultants, and other relevant departments, to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and optimisation of business outcomes. Engage appropriately with external stakeholders, such as our legal panel, insurers, representatives. Leadership and Influence: Exhibit strong leadership skills by inspiring, motivating and influencing team members to achieve high levels of technical proficiency, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
